Monty Preiser and his wife Sara Preiser reside full time in Palm Beach County,Florida, and spend their summers visiting wineries and studying wines on the west coast where they have a home in Napa. Writing about wines for almost 25 years, the Preiser’s publish the world’s most comprehensive guides to Napa Valley and Sonoma County wineries and restaurants titled, appropriately, The Preiser Key to Napa Valley (circulation 250,000) and The Preiser Key to Sonoma County (circulation 150,000), in which they create and pen the informational and educational articles. The guides have received accolades as the best (or indispensable) from, among others, famed writer Jancis Robinson of the Financial Times, Dine Magazine msnbc.com, cnn.com, Tom Simoneau of KSRO Radio, and Frommer’s.
Over the years Monty and Sara have served as wine columnists and wine editors for the Boca Raton News, the South Florida Business Journal, Coastal Carolina Life, BOCA Magazine, and numerous other trade publications. They were the principal wine writers for Sallys-Place.com, one of the Internet’s largest travel sites with over 3.5 million readers, and are regularly published by Wine-On-Line-International. Presently they serve as wine editors and contributors to Living on the Suncoast, the largest lifestyle magazine on Florida’s west coast.
Monty and Sara write a periodic international wine column that is taken by over 10,000 people on the Web, and reprinted by many blogs. They own Creative Professional Programs, a company devoted to continuing education for professionals in conjunction with fine wine & food instruction, and also co-own Shadowbox Cellars, which produces the premium Shadowbox Cabernet Sauvignon (2014 Gold at American Fine Wine Competition and 93 points from Robert Parker), Syrah (2014 Silver at AFWC), Pinot Noir (2014 Double Gold at AFWC), and Chardonnay (2014 and 2015 Gold at AFWC). They have been part of Oceania Cruise Line’s enrichment series where they presented shipboard lectures about California wines.
Between the two of them, Monty and Sara have served as judges for the Hilton Head Island WineFest, the Mendocino Winegrowers Competition, The California Green and Biodynamic Competition, the Long Beach Grand Cru Competition, Amador County Four Fires, the Lake County People’s Choice Awards, and the American Fine Wine Competition and Invitational. For the latter, the Preisers are the co-founders, while Monty serves as Chief Judge.
The Preisers have appeared as guests on numerous radio shows, and have taught wine to many groups, including Fortune 500 corporations and cruise ship passengers. Monty is also a voting member of those who select the inductees into the Napa Valley Hall of Fame, and founded the Hilton Head Island chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food.
Windee is on the Board of Directors for the Sonoma Valley Boys and Girls Club, Chairman of the Teen Programing Committee for the Boys and Girls Club and Marketing Committee for the Boys and Girls Club. She also sits on the Board of the Miner Foundation. Over the years Chad has been a donor to multiple organizations including: UNICEF, the ALS Association, The Red Cross, Aids Life Cycle, and World Wide Fund for Nature. He was also a founding donor of the Flight 93 Memorial and currently serves on the marketing committee at the Boys & Girls Club in Sonoma.Giving back and offering their support in the community has been extremely important to both Founding FEASTers.
